About The Growth Hub

The Growth Hub helps local businesses to maximise their potential. From one-to-one advice and support, to a range of expert-led events and online self-serve resources; The Growth Hub helps growing companies of all shapes and sizes. According to the January 2018 BiGGAR Economics report, businesses who have received support, within the three years since The Growth Hub’s opening, have reported a £20 million increase in turnover. The report highlights that all of the targets set by HEFCE to accomplish within those three years were met.

The challenge

When The Growth Hub team approached Salpo, they already had a CRM system in place, though with significant issues.

System users were choosing to maintain their own spreadsheets, because the current CRM was polluted with bad data, duplicates, and too many redundant fields.

These usability issues caused a lack of transparency across all teams, while negatively impacting support services.

The Growth Hub needed a CRM system that could be tailored to meet its unique needs, containing all pertinent data in an organised and accesible way and allowing staff to focus on supporting local businesses.

The solution

We built a robust and integrated solution onto our modular CRM platform. We created a bespoke sign-in page to track visitors to The Growth Hub space, syncing this with the CRM platform to populate relevant fields.

We used custom CRM Modules and Opportunities to build Events and centrally track business intervention efforts.

We assisted in building a front-end web page to promote The Growth Hub events programme, which is automatically pushed to the website, through our API, as data is populated within the CRM system. The Growth Hub now have a CRM platform to truly support their business.

The results

With the Salpo CRM platform now in place, The Growth Hub team can centrally track all business interactions against contacts. They gain additional insight through their on site sign-in, plus website events integrations, tracking all customer behaviour to enable follow-up and targeted messaging.

The management team can now quickly report and filter on data and Growth Plan Journeys, ensuring teams remain on target with internal and Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) goals. The Growth Hub now have a CRM system that matches their offering and can grow and evolve as they do.
